Welcome to Alone and Abroad, yet another solo female travel blog.

Alone and Abroad was created after I moved to Madrid to teach English and immediately fell in love with the city. Partly fueled by the desire to help others plan their solo trips, and partly fueled by my constant urge to yap, I started this blog.

Stressing about what to pack, where to eat, and how to get the most out of your way-too-short vacation time? Let me do the over-thinking so you don’t have to.

Here, I put my type-A personality to good use, helping to plan trips with a mix of the popular ‘must-sees’ and some off-the-beaten-path sites. You’ll find everything I know about living and traveling alone in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

Which, admittedly, isn’t everything, but, it does include city itineraries, local history and fun facts, how to stay safe when traveling, and where to find the best pastel de nata in Lisbon.
